Other HCC meetings
HCC business meeting – 6 monthly
These meetings are held to govern clinical guidelines and memorandum of agreements, plus discuss incidents, audits and feedback from our regional centres.
HCC audit meeting – 6 monthly
The Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Service participates in all national haemoglobinopathy audits. We undertake regional and local audits that constitute key performance measures in haemoglobinopathy at regular intervals. Regional audit results and actions are discussed during our bi-annual HCC business meetings. We also hold regular (at least 6 monthly) audit meetings. These are joint by both adult and paediatric team.
Service review – annual
Our UHBW Haemoglobinopathy Service holds annual service reviews. In this meeting we aim to review our quality standards and assess governance. We will review guidelines, operational policy, staffing, care pathways, new referrals, deaths and complications. In addition, further service developments, audits and data on clinic attendances, hospital admissions, length of stay, transfusions, and other clinical celebrations or challenges will be reviewed. This meeting is combined between paediatric and adult haemoglobinopathy team and includes the clinical and management teams from the respective divisions.
