This is a multicentre, phase 3, open label, randomised controlled trial which aims to assess clinical effectiveness of Haploidentical SCT when compared to the standard of care for severe sickle disease.

Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) NIHR BioResource

This new research initiative is dedicated to studying health conditions affecting people from Black communities in the UK. The IBHO BioResource invites individuals from Black ethnic backgrounds to participate in research aimed at improving our understanding of how these conditions might develop and specifically affect those from Black communities.

Additionally, all patients with sickle cell disorders or thalassaemia can register for this study regardless of their ethnic background. 

Sickle Eye Project

Sickle Eye Project: a cross-sectional, non-interventional study of the prevalence of visual impairment due to sickle cell retinopathy and maculopathy in the UK | BMJ Open

The Sickle Eye Project is an epidemiological, cross-sectional, non-interventional study to determine the prevalence of visual impairment due to SCR and/or maculopathy in the UK.
